Whilst there are many causes of rapid hair loss, there are also ways of preventing hair loss from occurring in the first place. Little things you may not think of could mean the difference between you having a full head of hair, or losing your hair.

There are some d-i-y solutions to help with preventing or slowing hair loss. Try mixing two teaspoons of caster oil, two teaspoons of amla and shikakai powder, powdered fenugreek seeds, two teaspoons of neem paste and two eggs. Mix this to a paste and apply to your scalp and hair. Leave the paste on for about 45 minutes, and then wash off with a mild shampoo.

If dandruff is part of the problem, try massaging the hair with warm coconut oil and apply the juice of one lemon to the scalp. Grind about 550 grams of methi seeds, mix in two eggs and apply this on your scalp. Leave it on for thirty minutes, and shampoo with an anti-dandruff shampoo. For the final rinse, take warm water and add the juice of one lemon to it. Try this twice a week to rid the hair of dandruff.

Scalp diseases from bacterial or fungal infections can lead to rapid hair loss. Seek medical help for any persistent hair infections and keep your hair clean and dandruff free by regular shampooing.

What You Eat Is Reflected In Your Hair

To assist in preventing hair loss it is good to understand that what you eat is reflected in your hair. Hair requires proteins, vitamins and minerals to be healthy, so plenty of fruits, vegetables should be included in your diet. Foods that are green, leafy vegetables, fresh fruit salads, coconut, lean meat, poultry, fish, eggs, nuts, yogurt, almonds and cottage cheese will all add strength to your growing hair and will add a natural shine.

Try to drink at least eight glasses of water a day; herbal teas and unsweetened fruit juice can also be included in a healthy diet. Try to drink less caffeinated tea and coffee because they increase the drainage of water and important nutrients are hampered because there isn’t as much absorption of the minerals that are crucial for healthy hair.

Also make sure you get plenty of exercise because exercise will promote circulation and other essential requirements for healthy hair.
